Earthquake

As you may know--if you read the news--there was a very powerful earthquake in Japan today. I watched a video on CNN of the resulting tsunami rolling across the Japanese countryside. Horrible. I have never seen anything like that before.

The earthquake has had no effect on South Korea as far as I know. I talked about it with my students today and reminded them to be happy that we are safe . . .

Cheap Lunch Food

Bibimbap: a mix of veggies and rice, served with some spicy sauce. From the supermarket, it's about $3. At a restaurant, $4-5. Delicious!

Thinking Ahead

It's likely that I will have the summer off, so I am thinking about travelling plans. Unfortunately, oil prices are rising due to the unrest (if you want to call it that) in the Mideast, so I am not sure where I will go. $ is a factor, since I am a lowly teacher:)

Is the stance on the environment in America really as bad as the above article makes it out to be? I know I've been absent for a few years, but I am depressed after reading that:(

Making Eggs

I cooked up some American favorites for my school's staff; Koreans love deviled eggs, even if they have never tried them before ("What is this?") . . . Koreans eat a lot of eggs, so they know a good spinoff:)
